Windows RT will not be upgraded to Windows 10
Today was rich in good news about Windows 10, and they all come from the forum WinHEC 2015, which takes place in China. However, not all the news is good.
Microsoft presented a plan to upgrade their systems, through which it becomes clear that Windows RT eventually will get upgrade to Windows 10. After the January conference, Satya Nadella said that RT will be updated to W10, but the intention of the company, apparently, has changed. However, the company promised that Windows RT will get some of the features of the new operating system with one of the future updates.
Windows Phone 8 also does not support the upgrade to Windows 10, but it’s not a problem, as almost all smartphones are running Windows Phone 8.1.
With regard to the installation on the PC, the software giant will offer two upgrade paths. Users of Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 S14 can be updated either through «Windows update» or by using the installation media (ISO). Other versions of these operating systems (Windows 7 RTM, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 RTM) will have to upgrade using the ISO.
If you are using Windows Vista or Windows XP, it is likely that your computer will work fine with Windows 10, but you’ll have to do a clean installation using the installation media.
This may be the easiest upgrade process, which we have seen in the history of Windows, and in view of the fact that the update will be free for a whole year, we can expect that the rate of adoption of Windows 10 will be incredibly fast.
