Windows 8.1 (Blue) will enable boot to desktop (Confirmed)
The rumors were true. Windows Blue will bring up the option boot-to-desktop (boot to desktop). I already wrote about the line of code that was discovered in pre-release operating system updates, but unnamed and confirmed that Microsoft really took into account the wishes of users and is already testing the ability to bypass the start screen at boot.
According to The Verge, the download to the desktop will be disabled by default, but users can enable this feature yourself. As I mentioned earlier, this feature is missing in the build of Windows 8.1, which is spread on the Internet, however, the option twinui-CanSuppressStartScreen in the registry confirms the above. Apparently, the software giant is changing its approach to how people should use Windows 8, going back to traditional habits.
Now Microsoft is faced with a downturn in PC sales, so the company should return more and the «start» button, just to make everyone happy – very doubtful, but possible.
