Windows 10: you are missing the Charm Bar? Here’s how to enable it
The function of the Charms Bar was first introduced in the Windows 8 operating system to access the settings and options of modern apps. Function, which is considered one of the most annoying features of Windows 8 on the desktop, was almost eliminated from the recently released preview version of Windows 10.
In Windows 10, to access the settings and options of modern apps with a mouse, we need to click on the » … » button, which is located in the leftmost side of the title bar of any application.
Although most desktop users I think the Charms bar annoying element and are glad to see that in Windows 10, it does not appear when you move the cursor to the top or bottom corner of the screen, remain those who believe that this is the most convenient way to access application settings.
By default, the Charms bar is disabled in Windows 10 TP for users of desktop PCs and laptops, but it can be enabled using one of the workaround – all you need to do is install a tiny program called PopCharms.
After installation PopCharms you can open the Charms bar by moving the mouse cursor to the right edge of the screen. Please note that if you attempt to run the tool, you can see a warning from SmartScreen, but you can easily ignore it by pressing the button «Run anyway». Also note that after you restart the computer you need to run PopCharms again. Although you can try to add a program in startup that did not have to do this every time.
I’ve tested the program on Windows 10 TP (x64) and can confirm that it works without problems. If you like the Charms bar, then visit this page to download PopCharms.
