Windows 10: some insiders had the opportunity to switch to the development branch of Redstone
In the last hours the Internet has spread reports of the user community who participate in the program Windows Insider about a new menu in settings that allows you to switch to a new branch of development of Windows 10, namely rs1_release. Within this branch will be preparing for the release of Redstone, a future major update for Windows 10, which is rumored to be scheduled for the summer of 2016.
According to Windows Insider, a new drop down menu with a choice of two branches of development (current and new th2_release rs1_release) appeared on the page «advanced settings» in «Upgrading and security». However, it appeared not all users.
Microsoft itself has not yet announced the shift of the test program to a new development branch, so it is possible, the new menu is just the result of some preparatory measures. Especially that soon after the appearance of the choice of the new branch was gone, and, despite the efforts, failed to install a new build belonging to rs1_release.
