Windows 10: change the registry files related to Windows Update, you will need to get a new build of the Technical Preview
Windows 10 Technical Preview is a pre release, which allows you to try out the new version of the operating system for several months before launching the final version. Of course, with the enthusiasm of those who were encouraged by Windows 10, there was a desire to shorten the interval between retrieving new assemblies preview. In the Network there were even instructions on how to do it and, yielding to temptation, some people follow them.
This possibility was discovered by several users, which showed how by making some registry changes you can activate a menu allowing you to select the interval «Fast» to quickly get the new version. One of these instructions is available on Neowin.
However, even in spite of the simplicity of action to fulfill them is not recommended, since the modification of the registry only prevents you from getting a new public assemblies. This was confirmed by Gabriel Aul, responsible for the Insider program. Users who have already managed to make these changes, you can restore the previous state, by following this guide that was published by Microsoft.
As explained on the official support forum, this feature really speeds up getting the new builds, but you will not be able to use it, if you are not an employee of Microsoft and do not have access to the internal network of the company.
The company recommends to be patient and just wait for the new public assemblies, instead of looking for workarounds, which, on the contrary, can only prevent you from getting them.
