Windows 10 build 9926: How to enable the new interface of date and time
In Windows 10 build 9926, Microsoft has made a lot of changes. In this Assembly, debuted the first working version of Cortana for desktop and tablet mode (Continuum), improved notification center and updated some apps. The company even added a number of new icons that personally, I have been retching, but I hope that this is not the final version.
The company is working on other changes, but they are not yet ready for Prime time – in this case we are talking about a new watch. For many years, we have seen the same calendar and an analog clock in the notification area, but Windows 10 build 9926, this element has acquired a brand-new look: it is hidden, but can be enabled via the registry.
Hidden clock and date have a more modern interface design that you’ll find throughout Windows 10. The interface is clean, white and with a digital clock instead of analog. From this interface you can add additional watches using the updated app «alarms». The appearance of the calendar is also changed. However, it should be noted that in its current form, this feature does not allow you to access settings date and time.
If you want to enable it on your system, follow these steps:
1. Open registry editor and navigate to the following path:
2. Create the following DWORD value: UseWin32TrayClockExperience
The created parameter will have a value of 0, and you don’t need to change it. That’s about it. Now just click on the time and date in your system tray and you should see the new interface hours.
Here is the old and new clock interface:
To return to the old interface, simply remove the parameter UseWin32TrayClockExperience, or change its value to 1.
