Why Microsoft unveiled Windows 10, not Windows 9
The most popular desktop operating system today is used by over 1.5 billion people, and the company strives to provide them with a whole new way to work with it.
Microsoft has already sold premiere Windows 10, which will be compatible with all types of devices such as personal computers, laptops, ultrabooks, smartphones, tablets, and monitors and TVs with screen sizes up to 80 inches. Interestingly, the company decided not to use the name «Windows 9» for the new platform, as we all expected.
Terry Myerson, head of Windows at Microsoft, said in a statement that it is the «most comprehensive operating system» of all that they have ever done. He added that «it would be wrong» to call it Windows 9.
The latest software is only the first step in a new era of evolution of the platform. It should also be noted that Windows 10 will be the next major update for Windows Phone.
The company plans to combine in one all operating systems, thus creating a platform that will make life easier not only for users but for developers. Windows 10 will combine the best features of Windows 7 and Windows 8, but will also offer additional opportunities.
Windows 10 is created and as the beginning of a new Microsoft strategy. The company wants to dominate in an ever-growing technological sector, and to adapt quickly to changes in the markets for cloud services and mobile devices. That’s why the software giant has missed the top corner and with this distinguished new Windows from previous versions of the operating system.
