Microsoft Office Web Apps is getting closer to the capabilities of Google Docs
The web application’s Office Web Apps finally got a few necessary functions: editing documents in real time, auto-save, search and replace, and a few others. The most important news is that since yesterday on the same document can be run simultaneously by several people.
For anybody not a secret that Microsoft Office is the most widely used office Suite in the world, but strangely, the time it took the company to add in Office Web Apps co-authoring documents in real time. The same Google Docs service, which can be considered a newcomer to the market of office applications that support this feature long enough. The number of people for joint editing of files in Word and Excel, it seems, is not limited, but PowerPoint has a limit of 20 people. All changes will be automatically synced with the service, but even if a user goes offline, he can continue to edit it and the changes will be automatically loaded upon detection of a connection to the Internet. In addition, with the new update for Office Web Apps the company has provided, and such features as «Find and replace», the formatting styles for headers and footers. PowerPoint has been given a new tool to crop images, and Excel now supports the function «drag and drop» that allows you to change the order of sheets and cells.
