The Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL – good opportunities at affordable prices
Today at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft introduced two new smartphones – the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL. Everyone who buys one of these new products, will receive an annual subscription to use Office 365 Personal + 1TB on OneDrive and 60 minutes of free Skype.
The Lumia 640, as the name suggests, is the successor of the Lumia 630 and Lumia 640 XL in practice comes to replace the Lumia 1320, but the company obviously decided to simplify the numbering of the models to make it easier to navigate among them.
The Lumia 640 features 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and a technology Nokia calls Clear Black. The display is protected by Gorilla glass 3. The smartphone supports the Glance function, which displays various information on the screen when the latter is in locked state. The device has got 1 GB RAM, 8 GB of user memory and a Quad-core Snapdragon 400 which runs at a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz. The main camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels and the front – 1 MP, but with a wide angle lens. The owners of the smartphone will be able to enjoy all the capabilities of the camera through a pre-application Lumia Camera 5. The battery has a capacity of 2500 mAh.
Lumia 640 XL, of course, is the largest of the two models. Its display features 5.7-inch diagonal, but the resolution is exactly the same as the Lumia 640. Generally, most of the characteristics of the Lumia 640 XL repeats those of the Lumia 640, but the main camera comes with a resolution of 13-megapixels and Carl Zeiss optics, and camera for video calls with a resolution of 5-MP. The battery has an impressive capacity of 3000 mAh.
Sales of the Lumia 640 will start in April at a price of 139 euros for a model with 3G and 159 euros for the version with LTE. The Lumia 640 XL will be available this month at a price of 189 euros for a model with 3G and 219 euros for the LTE variant. Microsoft will offer both mobile and in the version with two slots for SIM-cards.
