Future Office: Office 2016 and Office for Windows 10
Yesterday, during the briefing in Redmond, Microsoft announced new features in Windows 10 and elaborated on the new interface of the operating system for phones and tablets. In addition, the company also revealed a universal version of Office for Windows 10, which will be pre-installed on phones and will have a unified interface. In the upcoming office package will be a major aspect of sensory experience.
Office for Windows 10 offers touch-optimized versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook, which will work perfectly on devices with small screen. New office apps will go into the composition of phones and small tablets running Windows 10, and for the rest of the devices they will be available for download in the Windows Store. Also, the Office team announced a new Chapter in the history of the office Suite called Office 2016: desktop applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook. This version is for a PC with keyboard and mouse.
The company has not shown how it will look like Office 2016, but along with new features are also expected some changes in the user interface.
The preview version of universal Office apps will be available in the coming weeks with the Windows 10 Technical Preview, while the final will be released by the end of this year. Microsoft also said that Office 2016 will be launched in the second half of this year.
