The first version of Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones now available (6 Lumia models)
After a long wait Microsoft has just released the first Technical Preview of Windows 10 for phones, and thus kept the earlier promise to release this new version in February.
Major new release, designed to replace Windows Phone 8.1 is an important stage in the development of mobile operating system from Microsoft, and in all respects. To install a preview version can users who joined the Windows Insider program. However, the first build is designed for a small group of devices, including:

- Lumia 635
- Lumia 636
- Lumia 638
- Lumia 730
- Lumia 830
Your choice of devices the company explained that unlike the Lumia 930 and Lumia 1520, for example, the model from the list have a suitable size partition for the operating system. But the company promised that as new assemblies to be added to the compatibility with other models, since Microsoft is working on a way that will allow the section for your operating system to dynamically change its size.
The installation sequence is as follows:
- sign up in the program Windows Insider here (if you haven’t already done so);
- download and install the Windows Insider app on this link;
- Click to download the first build of Windows 10 for phones with the installed application (Get Preview Builds)
Remember that this is a very early preview that is full of bugs (full list of issues is on the Microsoft website), so install on a secondary smartphone.
When the Assembly is installed, you can choose the speed of getting new updates (like on the desktop version of Windows 10): «Slow» (slow) and «Fast» (fast). The difference is the speed at which you will become available new version of the operating system – «Slow» means not so often, but you will only receive more or less stable build, while «Fast» means that the new version for you will go out more often, but they are less stable.
As to changes specifically in this version, you will get more shortcuts in action center, interactive notifications (for example, the ability to reply to SMS via the on-screen notification of an incoming message), improved the function of speech-to-text, updated start screen, the ability to group newly established position at the top of the list and the updated Photos app. Browser Spartan will be released later, it will replace Internet Explorer on phones. And Yes, preview supports Russian language.
