The first test version of Windows 9 (Threshold) may be released at the end of September
It is no secret that Microsoft is going to show the world a new version of Windows and, according to Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet, time to first occurrence of Threshold is quite a bit.
According to multiple am well-known journalist, the first preview version of Windows 9 (Technical Preview) will appear by the end of September, early October. Those who install this version will receive automatic updates and will help the team in achieving stable release.
It’s not clear whether this Technical Preview is available publicly, or only to MSDN subscribers. However, it seems that the company is focused on the public release.
Windows 9 codenamed Threshold will be released in the first half of next year (possibly in April) and will bring with it many changes, including a new start menu, windowed mode for modern apps, virtual desktops and Cortana.
