Study the possibility of a new «task Manager» in Windows 8
«Task Manager» in Windows 8 has been completely redesigned. It became even more useful and convenient, and allows you to get a clear understanding of how the operating system uses the computer’s resources. With its help the user can manage all applications that run at system startup, you can even view the IP address of the network adapter. The tool offers two modes. The default mode, which is available at least the information about the running processes. Verbose mode is more advanced, but even as such, the «task Manager» remains very easy to use. The first thing you’ll notice is the color, which is allocated to each process – color becomes darker when the process begins to use more system resources.
How to run «task Manager»
The new «task Manager» opens, as in previous versions of Windows. At any time you can press Ctrl+Alt+Del and choose from the menu.
You can also use another traditional way, by right click on the taskbar and then selecting «task Manager» from the context menu.
And you can do it even easier and just press Ctrl+Shift+Esc.
The process is simple search running apps
When you first start Manager will open it the Lite version with a minimal set of information (you will only see the applications that are running at the moment). Besides the name, next to each app in the list has a corresponding icon that will help you quickly determine the desired application. The list displays both traditional desktop programs and new Modern applications.
When you click on the «Details» button opens the extended version of the tool with a lot of different information about applications, the ability to monitor system performance, to start and stop services, etc.
Running processes grouped by type (applications, background processes and Windows processes). In the old version this was not. Each process painted a color which depends on the number of resources consumed – if a process consumes more resources, the shade becomes darker. Double clicking on any of the running applications allows you to open it.
For more information you can click with the right mouse button on any of the processes to open a context menu with several options, including the ability to close the process.
Performance statistics of system resources
The Performance tab consists of the new revised statistical system (line charts). The tool displays the utilization of CPU, memory, disks, and the use of wireless and local networks. To view additional information, click on any of the items in the left part of the window.
Here you can find the system IP address (IPv4 and IPv6).
If you need even more information, you can click on «Open resource monitor», which is located next to the button to switch between modes of task Manager. The «resource monitor» provides a complete set of information that will allow you to see and control the use of system resources by processes and services – this tool was not updated, that is still the same as it was in Windows 7.
The application log – analysis Metro apps
In the section «application Log» you can see how much CPU time and network bandwidth used «tile» application, starting from a certain point in time.
Startup acceleration download Windows
In previous versions of Windows to control a startup we often used third-party tools or built-in utility MSConfig, which, by the way, I know not all users. Windows 8 users for this purpose third-party tools are no longer needed because the new «task Manager» to see what programs run at system startup (startup of each program can be enabled or disabled.) and how much each application affect the Windows startup.
Users – end processes for other accounts
In the section «Users» will list all users who are currently in the system and how much resources are used each account. If the system includes more than one user, you can use the button «Disable» to close any of the accounts, and thus free up more system resources.
Details – advanced process viewer
Section «Details» is familiar to us in Windows 7. Here you will see a list of all running processes. It also displays the application icons (unlike Windows 7), and the «Status» column will tell you the condition of each of the processes. Clicking the right button of the mouse on the process, you will get access to context menu with useful functions with which you can set the priority for a process, terminate process execution and many more.
Service – Lite version
The Services tab allows you to see all system services. Here it is possible to start/stop any service or to access the full version of the tool.
And finally, through the task Manager you can open the Run dialog.
«Task Manager» has always been one of the most useful tools of Windows. With the new version will be able to understand, even for inexperienced users. He has become much better, providing intuitive user interface and many new features that make life easier for the owners of computers.
