Sticky Tiles: to-do lists on the start screen of Windows 8/8.1
Home screen is the main attraction of Windows 8/8.1 and one of the many features implemented in Windows 8. The Windows Store is full of apps which can benefit from an initial screen, and one of them is called Sticky Tiles.
As the name implies, this app is an analog of the program «Notes», which comes with Windows, but the distinguishing feature of the Sticky Tiles is that this app is designed for the start screen. In other words, Sticky Tiles lets you add beautiful tiles with notes directly on your home screen.
As you can see in the image above, with Sticky Tiles you can easily add nice ToDo-list next to tiles of other apps. When creating notes, you can choose the color of the tile (available in six different colours), size (medium or wide) and tile type of the two available options. The ability to specify headers for notes is my favorite feature of this app.
In addition to all the above, the application allows you to edit the contents of the generated notes. To do this, click on the pencil icon in the lower corner of the tile. This will launch the app where you can add/delete notes or change the color. However, the current version does not support changing the type and font size.
Perhaps, today, Sticky Tiles is the best free app of this type available in the Windows Store. If you like native app «Notes», I think you’ll love and Sticky Tiles. The only downside to this app is that it offers only two sizes of tiles. If you are looking for a good app with support for large tiles, try the app «List» (to-dos).
