Skype for Web launched worldwide
At the end of last year it became clear that Microsoft is readying a version of Skype that allows to use the application directly from the browser on the computer. In the past few weeks, Skype for Web (Beta) was only available in the UK and the United States, but the company has removed this restriction, so the service is now available to users around the world.
To use Skype in a browser on your computer, click on the link https://web.skype.com/ru/ and log in using your user name and password. Instantly you will see a list of your contacts and recent chats.
However, if you want to use voice and video calls through the web version of Skype, then you need to install a plugin (about 13 MB) which, however, will no longer be needed with the launch of the final version of the service. But please note that calls are not supported in all browsers even with the plugin.
Skype for Web (Beta) can be used via Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer. Of course, in the future will be added and compatibility with the new browser from Microsoft – Edge.
