Satya Nadella: the future of digital assistants such as Cortana will replace your web browser
Although voice assistants have become an integral part of all major operating systems, and tech companies continue to invest in their development huge funds, many users are still very skeptical in relation to their actual or potential practical use.
This is partly due to the lack of sufficiently Mature digital assistants, which could show its full potential, but despite this, Satya Nadella is confident in the successful future of this technology. So much so that at a recent conference, O’Reilly Next: Economic summit, he said that such and Cortana voice assistants could eventually replace web browsers as the primary interface for access to online content.
For those using Cortana, Siri or Google Now, «signs of the future» are already being felt. When someone asks the digital assistant to «take me with you umbrella today?» says Nadella Cortana automatically detects your location and check the weather; no need to launch a browser or weather app to find the answer to this question.
Currently, Microsoft is actively expanding the features and functions of Cortana, improves voice recognition and natural language, expands international availability of its voice assistant. But how accurate is the reasoning of the head of Microsoft and whether or not we will live in this world, in which voice assistants will change our habits and take the place of traditional web browsers – we learn very soon.
