Microsoft offers a simplified procedure for the transition to Windows 8.1. Just download the Windows 8.1 Upgrade Assistant and follow the instructions. However, your computer must meet the minimum system requirements: CPU 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB of free space on the hard disk.
