New screenshots of Windows Threshold, the start menu + Metro app in windowed mode
To date, we know that the start menu will return in Windows Threshold, the next version of the operating system, which may be called Windows 9. During the last Build developer conference Microsoft showed off a concept of how it will look in the new menu «start», and today we can look at a new screenshot that shows a little more. Also the Internet has leaked another image showing in the Windows Store in windowed mode.
Although to verify the authenticity of these images is almost impossible, they look quite real. But if they are real, it should be borne in mind that what we see today, can change dramatically by the time of completion of the operating system.
Judging by the screenshots, we have a build 9795 with a kernel version of 6.4. Current Windows 8.1 has kernel version 6.3.
Now the company is silent regarding Windows Threshold, so the official information is very small, but there is speculation that a preliminary version of the new OS will be released before the end of this year, while the launch of the final version is expected during 2015.
