To get access to new features of Windows 10, users will have to buy a new computer
Earlier Microsoft reported that some of the computer is blocked from installing all future updates to Windows 10. To get access to new functions that the software manufacturer creates and implements improvements to the operating system, affected users will need to purchase new computers.
This is a serious blow which, in fact, puts many users in a quandary.
So, according to official statements of representatives of Microsoft, the problem affects computers that are running on Intel Atom Clover Trail: «So is the case with devices using Intel Atom Clover Trail: today they require additional hardware support to ensure the best possible by upgrading to the latest Windows 10 upgrade».
It was found that devices with processors Atom Z2760, Atom Z2520, Atom Z2560 and Atom Z2580 Creator is incompatible with Windows Update. And recently, Microsoft has confirmed that owners of computers with the data components will not be able to install any future updates to Windows 10. Simply put, they are «stuck» on a version of the operating system, 1607 — Anniversary Update, released in August 2016.
Under normal conditions, when each update for Windows 10 gets security updates for 18 months, version 1607 lost the support of Microsoft in the beginning of this year. As a consequence, although people could still use their PC, the latter would become more vulnerable to potentially dangerous bugs and security holes.
However, in order to somehow pacify frustrated users, Microsoft said that computers affected by the considered problem, will continue to receive security fixes until January 2023. But although this news and has a stake facilitating factor, the prospect of getting stuck in the same version of the operating system, at least for another five years, without hope of access to new features, not particularly attractive.
