Microsoft released the Live Lock Screen for Windows Phone 8.1
The update to Windows Phone 8.1 adds a huge store of fresh features in devices running mobile operating system from Microsoft, but perhaps the most important feature update is the voice assistant Cortana. However, in April, the company demonstrated a proprietary application Live Lock Screen that allows you to personalize the lock screen in different ways, which are not only interesting but also informative.
Unfortunately, the Live Lock Screen was not part of the update, but the company has promised to release it in a separate app, and today Microsoft has kept that promise. The app is already published in Windows Phone Store, however, is only in beta version, meaning that now it works not as good as I would like.
The application provides six themes with different animations that seriously change the way of displaying the time, date and notifications. Users can also specify multiple background changes throughout the day, and another option allows each day to have a new background image from Bing.
Here’s a great video from WPCentral, which shows the app in action:
Currently only available as beta, even on powerful devices you will notice a small lag and other shortcomings, but by the time the final versions of all the problems will have to be eliminated.
There is a good news for the owners of budget smartphones. The app works even on devices with 512 MB of RAM. Recall that during Build 2014, when the app Live Lock Screen showed for the first time, it was announced that it will only work on models with 1 GB RAM and more.
If your device is running Windows Phone 8.1, you can download the application from the link below.
