Microsoft released Office for iPad
Microsoft Office, one of the most popular software packages for working with documents, has finally been released for Apple’s tablet. The software has a modern interface, optimized for use on touch devices, and in the course of the event were told straight out that Office for iPad was designed solely from scratch.
Now to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint on their devices can and iPad owners. This is a real event, expected in 2010. Moreover, the announcement of Office for iPad was the first major speech in front of an audience for Satya Nadella as head of Microsoft.
All three apps are already available in the App Store, but to use them to their fullest, you must have a subscription to Office 365. Thus, this software continues to be available free of charge exclusively for owners of smartphones with Windows Phone and some tablets with Windows 8/RT.
However, Office for iPad offers a free download, but without a subscription to Office 365, documents can be viewed, without the ability to edit and create a new one.
I recall that in the middle of last year Microsoft released a version of Office for iPhone and Android, so today’s announcement is another step of Microsoft towards greater market penetration of mobile devices, which the software giant is very far behind Apple and Google.
