Microsoft released branded MSN apps for iOS and Android
Microsoft is changing course since Ballmer’s resignation; in September the company rebranded its Bing apps to MSN, and promised that in the coming months they will arrive on iOS and Android.
Today, the company has kept that promise: the application «MSN news, MSN Weather, MSN Sports, MSN Finance, MSN Health and fitness», «MSN Food» and «MSN Travel» is now available on iOS, Android and Amazon Fire OS. («MSN Weather» for iOS will be released in the coming months).
Previously, all these apps have been available exclusively for Windows and Windows Phone, but Microsoft decided to release them on a competing platform in the field of «productivity and platforms».
Now the MSN apps are available everywhere: online, on Windows, Windows Phone, iPad, iPhone, smartphones and tablets with Android, and even Amazon Fire Phone and Amazon Kindle Fire.
The very best aspect of these applications is that they connect to your Microsoft account, and this means that you can be sure that all of your settings and interests will follow you everywhere.
It should be noted that each application for each platform was created almost from scratch, and in some cases, Microsoft has created new opportunities. For example, «MSN Health and fitness» app for iOS allows iPhone users to use a step counter to track daily activity and sync it with Apple HealthKit.
The application is available for download directly in Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Amazon App Store, Windows and Windows Phone Store. To download, visit this page on MSN, click on the app and choose your platform.
