Many Windows Phone fans are looking forward to the new high-end smartphone that will be able to resist presented yesterday the HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge. These people, however, some time will have to be content with the current flagships and affordable Microsoft smartphones, including the Lumia 640 and 640 XL, which today was officially presented.
Work on Windows 10 for phones will be ready in late summer, and that means a worthy successor to the Lumia 1020/Lumia 930/Lumia 1520 will be no earlier than October 2015. It’s a little disappointing, but on the other hand, the future head of the family Lumia will show that with the latest software the software giant.
Now Microsoft is trying to deal with a low share in the mobile market. Apple and Android dominate so much that Windows Phone is only about 3% in this segment. And the proportion continues to decline… it is Obvious that the launch of the latest affordable Lumia smartphones aimed at increasing sales, but will it be enough, nobody knows.
As they say, Microsoft is still testing the ability to run Android apps on the new Windows 10 as the obvious plan B. it is too early to say whether it will help in the fight for users, so it is hoped that in the end we’ll be pleasantly surprised in the early fall – better late than never.
