Microsoft is preparing to become a virtual mobile operator
Microsoft is preparing to launch a new service that will allow you to connect to mobile networks of national operators at any place and without any contract. This is indicated by the recent emergence of new applications in the Windows Store, which «gives you the ability to connect to a reliable mobile network of a national operator with a Microsoft account». The app is called Cellular Data, and only works on certain devices with Windows 10 in the presence of a SIM card Microsoft. But download it is not.
At the moment the details of operation of the new service is unknown, but it is easy to guess that the software giant has signed (or is about to do so) agreements with national operators in a number of countries so that users of the Windows 10 devices can use mobile Internet without a direct contract with a specific Telecom company. In this case the payment of the tariff plan will be made through the payment method associated with your Microsoft account. In other words, Microsoft can turn into a kind of virtual mobile operator (MVNO) and start to sell their own SIM cards or put them in a kit with compatible devices.
Initially the service will be active only in the United States, the United Kingdom and France.
