Microsoft introduced the new Surface Pro 4 50% more powerful than the MacBook Air
Apple and Google did compliment the Microsoft Surface Pro range, introducing last month your iPad Pro and Pixel C, but today the Redmond again showed how to look like a true hybrid tablet.
Surface Pro 4 was officially unveiled at the Microsoft event tonight in new York – he’s thin (8.45 mm), lighter (786 g) and very powerful, it is also equipped with a larger display than its predecessor.
The heart of the new Surface Pro 4 is the Skylake processor from Intel (Core M2, Core i5 or Core i7) and in an operating system, of course, used Windows 10 in Pro edition. The display is 12.3” (2763 x 1824 pixels), but physically, the tablet has retained the proportions of the 12-inch Surface Pro 3. Consequently, the Surface Pro 4 compatible with existing accessories for the Pro 3. However, the new keyboard for the Pro 4 comes with a fingerprint scanner, which is supplemented by a biometric scanner for face recognition. In other words, the device supports all the capabilities of Windows Hello.
As for the other main characteristics, in this respect, the fourth generation of the tablet can offer up to 16 GB of RAM, SSD capacity up to 512 GB full-sized USB 3.0 port, microSD slot, front-facing 5-Megapixel HD camera, rear 8-Megapixel camera with support for 1080p video recording and 802.11 ac Wi-Fi. In playback mode, the video claimed 9 hours of battery life. The tablet will be available with three different graphics chips depending on the installed processor: Intel HD 515 (M3), Intel HD 520 (i5), Intel Iris (i7).
Along with the Surface Pro 4 was presented and a brand-new Surface Pen that has the eraser on the back. A new digital pen with 1024 pressure sensitivity levels and is attached to the tablet with a magnet. Surface Pen has got different colors and even has integration with Cortana: you can activate the voice assistant by pressing and holding the stylus for a few seconds. By double clicking you can open OneNote. The company guarantees a one-year battery life in your Surface Pen on a single charge.
Surface Pro 4 will be available on 26 October with prices starting from 899 dollars. A stylus is included.
