In 1988, the American Association of computer equipment announced November 30 the International Day for the protection of information (Computer Security Day). The aim of the Day is to remind users of the need to protect their computers and all the stored information in them.
Proclaiming the Day, the Association intended to remind everyone of the need to protect computer information, as well as pay attention to manufacturers and users of hardware and software security problems.
