Improved Lenovo ultrabook ThinkPad X1 Carbon
In addition to the ThinkPad 8 tablet, Lenovo launched another device from business oriented series. We are talking about the enhanced edition of the ultrabook ThinkPad X1 Carbon.
The company describes the device as «the lightest 14-inch ultrabook on the market.» The device weighs a little less than 1.3 kg with a thickness of 17.7 mm for the version without touch screen and 18.4 mm for the version with so.
Thickness reduction became possible through the use of Intel Haswell processor (Intel Core i5 or i7), which is more energy efficient and emits less heat and therefore requires less coolers for cooling. Along with this, the company has dramatically increased the battery life battery – up to 9 hours. And the presence of the Rapid Change technology allows you to charge the device to 80% in 1 hour.
The ultrabook will be available with a screen resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels and 2560 x 1440 pixels. The latter provided for the version with touch screen. Other features include the SSD with up to 512GB and up to 8GB of RAM, and optional 4G LTE.
Change got and keyboard. Instead of the traditional row of function keys ThinkPad X1 Carbon is equipped with a capacitive touch strip, which is «adaptive», i.e., the set of keys changes depending on the active application. Another interesting feature of the new ultrabook is the ability to control it with your voice and gestures.
Lenovo to launch new ThinkPad X1 Carbon at the end of the month. The price is $1299.
