How will the new start menu in Windows 9
Besides the fact that we already know that Microsoft is working on the next version of Windows, codenamed Threshold, we also know that the company is preparing a new menu «start». But contrary to previous information, according to which «start menu» is simply the complement of the notorious start screen, the author of the blog WinSuperSite Floor Tarrot claims that the new start menu will replace start screen.
However, users will be able to stretch the menu to such an extent under which it is, by analogy with the current start screen in Windows 8/8.1, will fill the entire desktop.
On the last Build developer conference Microsoft showed off a concept of a Start Menu, which partially resembled the start menu in Windows 7. But even so, the final version will be completely new, created from scratch, and based on the start screen in Windows 8.1.
The software giant will also add code that will allow Windows 9 to determine the type of computer on which it is installed and if the operating system finds the traditional PC (desktop, laptop, or ultrabook), then the user will be provided a new menu. However, if the operating system will realize that she was running on the laptop or other touchscreen device instead of the «start menu» the user is the start screen, familiar to us from Windows 8.x.
The company will try to the operating system accurately determines the type of device, but Microsoft will also add an option that will allow you to choose the working environment.
It is anticipated that a preliminary version of Windows 9 will be released at the end of this year, while the final release is expected by spring 2015.
