Many users who choose to upgrade to Windows 10, worry that will not be able to return to the previous version of the system, if they do not like it in the «top ten», and they will have to completely reinstall my Windows 7 or 8.1. In fact, it is possible not to worry.

Return the previous version of the system using the built-in tools
Fortunately, Microsoft has provided the ability to roll back, so that unsatisfied customers can easily remove the update and return to using version 7 or 8.1. This is possible because in the process of upgrading to 10 key files from the previous Windows installation are saved automatically in the Windows folder.old on the system drive.
As the old installation files will occupy on disk with dozens of gigabytes of space, Windows 10 will automatically remove them exactly after 30 days. Thus, you will have a whole month to use this method of return. This is more than enough time to decide whether you like the new system or not. If you are sure that you will not want to come back, then run disk cleanup to remove these files and immediately release the space (see here).
So, to roll back from Windows 10, you need to launch «Settings» and go to «Update & security» where you will see several subsections, including «Recovery». Select it.
You will see several options, among which we are interested in «back to Windows 7» (or Windows 8.1, depending on which version you had before).
The system will ask you to explain the reason for the return (this information will be sent to Microsoft). Select any of the options and click «Next».
You will see a window with information…
… and then another:
And at the final stage when Microsoft will thank you for what you tried Windows 10, click «return to Windows…».
The rollback process will take some time and is fully automatic, so you can relax.
