How to open «PC Settings» in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
When you first use Windows 8 or Windows 8.1, you may have difficulty finding the application «PC Settings» –alternative to the classic control panel, which is designed primarily for touch devices. That’s why we decided to share with you a number of ways to access this app. I’m sure many users will find this guide useful.
Using the user menu on the start screen
This is not the best, but one of the fastest ways to get into «PC Settings», and it consists in the use of the user menu in the upper right corner of the home screen. Just click on your account name and select «Change avatar».
This will run the application «PC Settings» and go to personalize section in Windows 8 and in the section with your account settings if you are using Windows 8.1.
Using the Options bar
Another way is to use panels (Charm) Options.
To invoke this panel, move the mouse pointer to the right top or bottom corners of the screen. Then move the cursor up or down to see the buttons on a black background.
Click on the «Settings» and then select «Change PC settings».
Using control panel
This is a long and inconvenient way to open the application «PC Settings», but it would be better if you know about it.
Open control panel and go to user Accounts and Family safety — > user Accounts.
Next, click on the link «edit account in PC Settings».
So you get into «PC Settings» section of your account settings.
Using the tiles on the start screen (in Windows 8.1)
This method only works in Windows 8.1 because this version of operating system, unlike Windows 8, it is possible to pin the tile to «PC Settings» on the start screen.
Open start screen and type «settings».
In the search results pane, right-click on «computer Settings» and then click on the «home screen».
Experiment with all these ways and choose the one that best suits you.
