How to import contacts from SIM card on Windows Phone 8
If you just bought your first smartphone running Windows Phone 8, one of the first things you need to do is to transfer your contacts. For those who store contacts on the SIM card that you used with the ordinary mobile phone, in this post I will show the steps necessary to import contacts from SIM in Windows Phone 8 and then save to your Microsoft account.
How to get to the settings of the Contacts application
The first thing you need to do is open the app «Contacts». Find its icon on the home screen or in the applications list, and then click on it.
When the application is launched, click on the more button (three dots in the lower right corner). In the context menu click on «settings».
How to import contacts stored on the SIM card
In the «settings» section you will see a button «import contacts from SIM card».
Under it you will see a date that tells when was last import (if it were). In addition, there you will see and write about what your imported contacts will be synced with your Hotmail account (Microsoft).
To begin the import process, click «import contacts from SIM card». On the next screen, choose contacts from the list. This lists all the contacts found on the SIM card. By default all of them will be marked, but you can choose only those that you need. Then click «import».
If you want to select only a few contacts to import, click the «clear» button, and then choose the ones you want to import. Once the import is complete, you will transfer back to the settings screen of the Contacts application.
