How to fix «missing msvcr100.dll»
The computer is a wonderful thing – when it works. However, sometimes out of nowhere (not your fault) comes some kind of problem or error, and you have no idea how to fix it.
Error «missing msvcr100.dll» is one of such problems. It is easily disposable, and here I show you some ways how to do it.
Usually this error occurs when trying to run an application developed in Visual C++. If the file msvcr100.dll for some reason is missing, the application will not start and the system will give this error:
The first thing you should try is download and install the package in Visual C++.
- For 32-bit systems: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
- For 64-bit systems: Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
The installer will overwrite files Microsoft Visual C++, if this software is already installed on your computer, and nine out of ten that the lost file will be restored.
If reinstalling the Microsoft Visual C++ does not help, it is likely that msvcr100.dll in the system, but the file itself is corrupted, so you have to replace it yourself. You can find the file online, but make sure the reliability of the website from which you plan to download it, since some of the storage DLL-files can contain not only the obsolete and corrupt files, but even harmful.

When you find yourself on the main page, enter the file name in the search bar and press Enter.
This will take you to the download page. On the right side of the page you will see a long grey rectangle with the words «Manual Fix» in the upper left corner. In the lower part of this rectangle is a button «Download ZIP File». Click it and download the file for 32-bit or 64-bit depending on your operating system.
Open the downloaded archive using any archive and extract it msvcr100.dll.
Now copy the file to C:WindowsSystem32 and C:WindowsSysWOW64 if you have a 64-bit system.
That’s about it. Only that you have replaced/rebuilt msvcr100.dll therefore, the error indicating the absence of, more should not bother you. If the problem persists, boot into safe mode and run a thorough check for malware/viruses.
