How to fix the status of «pending» when installing or updating Windows Store apps
Because Windows 8 was designed around the needs of users of touch devices, especially for its new operating system Microsoft has invented a new type of applications with which you are comfortable to work on tablets and hybrid laptops.
In addition, the company has created a special repository, where developers need to publish such applications. Using the Windows Store, users can easily search for the desired application and with the same ease can install them on your device. However, the app does not always work. For example, some users often see a status of «pending» when installing or updating apps. Restarting the store or reboot does not solve this problem, and Microsoft in turn does not give any clear recommendations for its elimination. But the simple steps below should help you.
1. Hit the Windows logo key + X. In the menu that appears choose «Command prompt (admin)».
2. Type the following command and press Enter to stop the Windows Update service:
net stop wuauserv
3. Now go to:
And rename the folder SoftwareDistribution in SoftwareDistribution.old.
4. Coming back to the command prompt and restart the Windows Update service by command:
net start wuauserv
5. Restart the computer and try to update or install applications that are not installed/not updated because of the status «waiting».
That’s all that needed to be done.
