How to disable changing home page in Internet Explorer (Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7)
If you want to block and change your home page in Internet Explorer, this guide should help you. And why do we need it? Using «registry Editor»
If your Windows version is missing «local group policy Editor», you can do the same by making some changes to the Windows registry.
So, again, open the Run dialog, type regedit, and press Enter. When you open «registry Editor», navigate to the following registry key:
Next, click the right mouse button on the folder «Microsoft» and from the context menu choose new > key.
Created section name «Internet Explorer».
Now create two new sections («Control Panel» and «Main») into a newly created section.
Then go to «Control Panel» and create a DWORD value named «HomePage».
Now double click on this parameter, set its value to «1» and click «OK».
Next, go to «Main» and create string value with name «Start Page». After open this option and in the Value field, enter the address of the desired homepage Again if the homepage, you need a blank tab, enter about:Tabs.
But if you do not want to make all these changes manually, just download this registry file, run it and it will do everything for you – that’s just the home page in IE will be assigned a blank tab, but you can change it yourself.
To do this, open the downloaded file with any text editor, enter the address of the required website in the option «Start Page», save the changes and run the file.
