How to disable automatic app updates in Windows 8.1
In Windows 8.1 there is a very useful feature that automatically updates apps downloadable through the Windows Store, which saves users from having to do it manually. Default is enabled, which in my opinion, saves our time and effort, but in some cases you may need to disable it. In this short guide I’ll show you how to do it.
Go to the start screen and open Windows Store.
Open the Settings pane (Win + i) and click «app Updates».
Then just uncheck the «Automatically update my apps» with the switch in position «No».
Now the behavior of the app store will be similar to that of the Windows 8 operating system. In other words, new updates are available you will be notified to tile the Windows Store and downloading and installing, you will need to run manually.
