As apps from the Windows Store ban to appear on the taskbar in Windows 8.1 Update
Thanks to the recently released update for Windows 8.1 users who use the default settings, will now have buttons for closing/minimizing apps from the Windows Store. In addition, inside any modern app is now possible to always access the taskbar by simply moving the mouse cursor to the bottom edge of the screen.
In addition to these functions, the running modern apps now appear on the taskbar of the desktop, and it is even possible to fix there without having to use third-party tools that have been released in the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. This is a convenient feature and many people like her happy, but there are certainly those who will want to prevent Windows Store apps appearing on the taskbar.
The reasons for this may be several, but the main is that when you work with dozens of applications, all these applications appear on the taskbar, and suggest there is a real mess. Access to the running applications was still possible to move the mouse cursor to the upper left corner of the screen or using the hotkeys Alt + Tab, so it makes sense to disable this feature.
Fortunately, you do not have to edit the registry because the required option is displayed in the properties window of the task pane.
Note: Please note that even after disabling the option «Show Windows Store apps on the taskbar» on it will appear the apps that you get hooked. For example, if you secured it to the taskbar, only the mail app, in this case, the taskbar will not show all apps except mail. Also, keep in mind that this feature is only available in Windows 8.1 Update and its not in Windows 8/Windows 8.1.
Step 1: Go to the desktop.
Step 2: Click the right mouse button on an empty area of the taskbar and select «Properties» to open «taskbar and navigation».
Step 3: On the tab «taskbar», disable the checkbox called «Show Windows Store apps on the taskbar».
Step 4: Click «Apply» and close the window. That’s it! From this point on running Windows Store apps will never appear on your taskbar, but only if you won’t dock them there.
