How to add OneDrive in the submenu «send to» in Windows 7 or 8.1
C free account on OneDrive you get 15 GB of online storage that allows you to sync and access files from multiple devices, including PCs, smartphones and tablets. Copy files and folders in OneDrive, it will be easier if you add the corresponding option in the context menu of Windows. Today we will show you how to do it.
OneDrive is integrated into Windows 8.1, but if you have Windows 7, don’t forget to download and install the OneDrive app before you can begin to follow the steps described in this article.
So, let’s start. In Windows 8.1, press the Windows key + X and select Run.
If you are using Windows 7, after installation of the OneDrive app, open the menu «start» and right click «Run».
In the dialog box «Run», type the command shell:sendto and hit OK or Enter on the keyboard.
Executing the above mentioned command will open the folder «SendTo». Any items placed in this folder can be found in the submenu «Send». Click the right mouse button in a blank area of the folder and from the context menu select new — > Shortcut.
On the first screen Windows create the shortcut click the «Browse»button.
In the browse files and folders browse to a OneDrive, select it and click «OK».
As a result, in the row location of the object will be added to the path to your OneDrive folder.
Note: the Path will lead to the folder in SkyDrive and not OneDrive. Before OneDrive was called SkyDrive, so somewhere in the operating system is still found the old name. In any case, our label will work.
As the name label will automatically be selected the name of the service i.e. OneDrive. If you want, you can change the name, but I decided to leave as is. Click «Finish».
After performing the above action, the SendTo folder will appear in the label cloud service from Microsoft.
Now let’s try to transfer a file or folder in OneDrive via Windows Explorer. Select as many files and folders as necessary. Then click the right mouse button on the selected items in the context menu, select «send to» — > «OneDrive».
Ultimately, the files will be transferred to the root folder of your OneDrive account because when you create a label we chose it. If you want to send files in a separate folder of your account, just add the folder as a shortcut in the submenu «send to», using the same procedure described in this article.
