Bookviser – the best ePub reader for Windows 8 and RT
On our website we do not discuss topics related to the applications for reading electronic books on Windows 8, although a year ago was considered one such app. Bookviser but I just couldn’t ignore since I use this app on your smartphone with WP, with it Windows Phone 7.
Bookviser is a free app with a great design. It is compatible with Windows 8/8.1/RT and completely changes our view of reading e-books on your Windows devices. Looking ahead, I will say that if you are still looking for a good ePub reader for Windows 8, you can safely stop.
Bookviser has a built-in online catalogs and allows you to add your book (EPUB, FB2 and TXT) from SkyDrive, Dropbox or your computer’s hard disk. By default, the app includes 3 free books (though they are in English), but you can add others, buying in the online directory or adding your own from any of the three aforementioned agents.
To choose a book of their own and not need to click the big green tile «Add» and then select «From files and cloud storage».
The design of the open book looks like in iBooks on iOS, the turning of pages is also accompanied by a similar animation. The animation, incidentally, can be disabled in settings.
Right-click the mouse anywhere on the screen with an open book allows you to see the controls that you can customize the font (style, size, line spacing), color theme, and much more.
Flipping pages and jump to other chapters of the book are outstanding.
All added in-app books fall into the category of «bookshelf» where you can sort them by genre, author, title, etc.
Bookviser is probably the best app of its kind for Windows 8. If you like reading on your computer/tablet/laptop, you should definitely try this app. If you are the owner of a device running Windows Phone 7/8, you may be happy to know that Bookviser available for Microsoft’s mobile platform.
