BetterDesktopTools: function, Expose and Spaces from Mac OS X in Windows
If you click on «Virtual Desktop Overview», the app will show thumbnails of the current virtual desktop. To give you an idea of what it looks like, below I posted a screenshot of four different virtual desktops.
The number of available settings should be adequate to meet the needs of any user. The application has extensive support for hotkeys, after which the window management becomes a simple process. To perform basic actions, you can choose both keyboard and mouse.
Hot Corners is another interesting feature in the settings BetterDesktopTool, which allows you to activate certain action of the application by simply moving the mouse cursor to a pre-selected corners of the screen.
Tab «Virtual-Desktop» further extends the functionality of BetterDesktopTool. Here you can select the total number of virtual desktops and configure hot keys to control them. Also in the settings there is a tab «General», which includes several common parameters. Here you can enable/disable startup programs with the operating system, to check for updates, disable animations, and so on.
In General, this is a very versatile app with lots of options, which will allow Mac users to feel at home when working with Windows. Below is embedded a video demo from the developer’s site, which will give you an understanding of how the tool works.
App BetterDesktopTool is available for free (for personal use). There is also a professional version ($19.99 for a single user license), which, among other things, supports multiple monitors and offers more features than the standard version. Both versions support Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
