App store for Windows smartphones is still full of fake apps
No matter how much effort Microsoft make smartphones with Windows serious alternative to Android and iOS, to get at least some of the normal results of the company and failed. Official data show that in the last quarter of last year, has sold only 4.5 million Lumia smartphones, which is 57% less compared to the same period of 2014, while revenues from the mobile division have declined by as much as 49%.
One of the problems that seemingly will never cease to pursue the mobile platform from software giant, is associated with apps. And it’s not even in the number of applications and in their quality.
It turns out that the Windows app store is still crawling with fake copies of popular titles, which is quite irritating for users. For example, when searching for games Traffic Rider the store is a dozen apps from other developers with a similar name and exactly the same icon. In other words, Microsoft is, as before, not making enough effort for control over the contents of your storage applications. The situation is improving, if you change search criteria, but the fact remains that the company had not kept his old promise to restore order in the Windows Store.
At the same time, this means that the actual number of applications is much lower than stated in the official data, as many of them are fakes. If the company plans to revive the platform, this problem should be solved as soon as possible.
