Acer Aspire Switch 10: a hybrid device with 4 modes
Yesterday at an event in new York Acer announces hybrid Aspire Switch 10. It has 4 modes and is equipped with a 10.1″ IPS display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels which has a special coating for improved visibility outdoors.
The display is attached to the keyboard with magnets. Thus, the device can be used as a laptop and tablet, but also includes modes for presentations and video viewing (the so-called «tent»).
The case alludes to the budget nature of the device, because its material is plastic imitating aluminum. The work of the magnetic fixing, following similar decisions from other manufacturers: the mechanism allows you to quickly separate the display from the keyboard and at the same time he’s strong enough to hold the two parts together.
Keyboard built-in USB port, a microSD slot and HDMI and extra battery, unfortunately no. However, in another version of the keyboard will be installed hard disk drive (up to 500GB), which will expand the internal memory of the tablet.
Aspire Switch 10 features a Quad-core Intel Atom Z3745, 2 GB RAM, 32/64 GB of internal memory and running a full version of Windows 8.1. The thickness of the tablet is 8.9 mm, and if to connect it to the keyboard and close the device like a traditional laptop, the thickness will increase to 20.2 mm. Total weight 1.17 kg.
The product will hit the market somewhere in early summer at a price of about 400 euros.
