5 ways to open the Settings window in Windows 10
Looking at how Microsoft is moving away from the «control Panel», trying to make the app «Settings» the main place to configure the system, I came up with the idea to share with you all I know of ways to open this window. I know that most of you now know, but I hope that for some readers, the information below will be useful.
Use the shortcut settings in the menu «start»
«Start menu» was not included in Windows 8 and 8.1, but after the mass discontent users, Microsoft has returned with Windows 10, though not quite in the form in which we are accustomed to see him. It is logical that the start menu provides one of the fastest ways to open the settings menu in Windows 10.
So, go to start and look at the bottom left menu – there you will see we are interested in a shortcut to get to the Settings.
Use The Search/Cortana
This method is not as fast as the first, but still deserves to be mentioned. Enter the word «parameters» in the field «Search in the web and Windows», and as soon as the system will show the search results, press Enter or click on the appropriate result.
Use the «Quick action»
Windows 10 includes a new feature called «Notifications», whose purpose is to notify the user about what is happening on his computer. In addition, this function has a number of buttons to perform quick actions.
Open the notification panel by clicking on the appropriate icon in the system tray.
In the bottom of the pane click on «All settings». This will open app Settings.
Secure «Settings» on the taskbar
If you use the settings menu, just place a shortcut on the task bar. To do this, click start, locate the shortcut to «Settings» and click the right mouse button (or hold down until a context menu will appear, if you have a touch device). In the menu, select «pin to taskbar».
Use hot keys on the keyboard
This is the latest and probably the fastest method. All you need to do is press Ctrl + i. This action will immediately open the Settings window.
If you know of other ways, share them in the comments and I will add them to the article.
